FREE ESTIMATES: We offer FREE estimates on all work. No

MAINSPRINGS: We
remove the broken spring from your canister, clean it thoroughly, install a new
mainspring, re-lubricate and test the completed assembly. We do not sell springs
separately: only fully installed in your canister. Mainspring installation is dangerous
without the proper tools. Normally only one spring is broken if the machine wont
wind up. However, most machines have 2 - 4 mainsprings that should be removed, cleaned and
re-installed in your canister. This will help prevent them from breaking due to dirty,
hardened lubrication.
PRICES: Springs - all brands
except Edison are $60.00. Edison springs are $90.00. Labor is $46.00 per spring.
GOVERNORS: The Governor controls the speed of your phonograph. It is the
part of the motor that has round weights on it (usually 2 or 3). If your phono plays too
fast or varies in speed than chances are that the governor needs new springs. Remove the
entire governor by taking out the screws on each side of it, releasing the bearings that
hold it. Take it out as one unit and ship it to us. We will replace all the springs, clean
and adjust the assembly. All three (two on some models) must be replaced at the same time
or uneven speed of the turntable will result.
PRICES: Complete service is $40.00. Governor weights (if needed) are
extra.
